Online Consultations

Due to the high volume of calls we receive, we would encourage our patients to use our online consultation Engage Consult

IMPORTANT PATIENT NOTICE - CHANGES TO OUR SERVICE

We ask that patients DO NOT just turn up to the surgery.

All patients need to telephone the surgery for advice.

The surgery now has two zones - Red Zone and Green Zone

If patients are asked to attend the surgery via the Red Zone they must follow the instructions below:

  1. To attend alone where possible (one carer maximum).
  2. To ring the buzzer on the intercom system (linked to reception) when arrived at Red Zone.
  3. Leave any baby buggies in the designated place outside the practice.
  4. Reception will instruct patient via intercom to enter a designated isolation room, wash hands and put on a mask and wait for the Health care professional to attend for the consultation.
  5. Patients are asked to use the toilet at home prior to appointment.

If patients are asked to attend the surgery via the Green Zone for an appointment:

Patients use the intercom system at Green Zone to let Reception know they have arrived.

Reception screen for covid-19 symptoms -

  1. Do you currently have a cough or fever?
  2. Are you self-isolating due to a family member having had these symptoms?

If the answer is NO to the above you will be invited in for a routine appointment.

If the answer is YES, you  will be asked to return home and they will be called by a healthcare professional to advise on the appropriate next steps.

Help us to keep the NHS Safe.

Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions we are unable to offer our usual walk in clinics for the Influenza Clinics’ this year.
Therefore we will be sending invitations to advise when to come to the surgery with an allocated date and time to attend the surgery.

The Practice

There has been a doctor’s practice here since the 1920s, but it became a four-doctor group in 1986 and more recently a six-doctor group. The practice is constantly changing and developing to provide our patients with the most up-to-date care in the National Health Service. We have an internal telephone exchange and we are fully computerised.

Our staff of 10 receptionists, a team of practice nurses, a nurse practitioner, a team of dispensers and a practice manager, are there to help you.

Telephone Befriending scheme for people in isolation

The scheme is to help reduce loneliness in people ‘shielding’ or self isolating and can work both ways as with those with time on their hands becoming a telephone befriender can give them something positive to focus on whilst for those with anxiety, no one to talk to etc it can provide a lifeline of regular calls and signposting to useful support that they may need.
